Grace J. Scheinost, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1967.

Grace was born on September 4, 1927, in Fairbury, Nebraska to Elmer and Lucy (Smalldon) McGrath. She grew up in Kearney, Nebraska, and graduated from the Lincoln, Nebraska General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She was also a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps (WWII). She volunteered as an RN at the El Paso County Health Department for many years.

On September 15, 1950, she married Robert “Bob” Scheinost in Lincoln, Nebraska. She, Bob, and family resided in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Tennessee before moving to Colorado in 1963.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob. She is survived by son, Steve Scheinost of Colorado Springs and his 6 step-grandchildren; daughter, Gail (Cliff) Franklin of Lakewood, CO; son, Craig (Carey) Scheinost, and granddaughter Kristin of Geneva, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 am June 24, 2017, at Faith Presbyterian Church, located at 1529 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs. Grace was a longtime member at Faith.
