Obituary for Carol Ann Fleming

Carol Ann Fleming
Carol Ann Fleming, age 76, passed away on May 16, 2017. A resident of Colorado Springs for 28 years, coming here from 13 years in Corvallis, Oregon. A former elementary school teacher, she was a dedicated mother, homemaker, seamstress and tailor, gardener, and photographer. Born in Granite City, Illinois, October 31, 1940 to Lorna and Denver Garrett, raised in Seattle, Washington from age 5, she was married to Philip J. Fleming on July 14, 1963 in San Jose, California.

Carol was very accomplished as a master seamstress, likely developed from her costume making for childhood dance recitals, and a dedicated classical piano musician. She loved gardening, tending her beautiful houseplants, listening to classical music, and more recently taking pictures of the abundant wildlife in her own yard, as well as photographing the marvelous historical relics found in travels to Italy and Ireland.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and became the family historian and researcher for both sides of her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Philip J. Fleming; 2 sons, Timothy P. Fleming, Christopher W. Fleming; and her sister, Linda R. Brougham.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm followed by a Rosary Service at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel on Monday, May 22, 2017. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Ave. at 10 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. After the Mass, burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with a reception following at St. Joseph Social Hall.

Memorials in Carol's name should be made to Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, Alabama, 35210-2164.
