Obituary for Elizabeth Ann King

Elizabeth Ann King
Elizabeth Ann King
October 19, 1941 – January 25, 2018

Sister Elizabeth Ann King (the eldest of 14) passed away on January 25, 2018. She was born to the late Prentice and Earnestine Walker on the 19th of October in the year 1941 in Texarkana, Texas. In 1942, Prentice moved the family to Colorado Springs, Colorado where Prentice and Earnestine raised their family until their death. Elizabeth was a 1959 graduate of William J. Palmer High School located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

On 11 March 1962, Elizabeth united in matrimony with the late Master Sergeant (MSG) Shelton Lee King then spent the next 50 years together as a loving couple living in multiple locations, around the world, as a US Army spouse. From this union two sons were born: Anthony Lee King and Raymond Marvin King. She believed in family first but had a very strong work ethic that allowed her the ability to perfectly balance the love of her family with the love of having a career as an Accounting Clerk. Elizabeth retired from the Colorado Springs, Colorado Utility Department. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Colorado Springs.

Elizabeth, better known as “Ann” is survived by her two sons, Anthony “Tony” and Raymond “Marv” King (wife Witne); three brothers: Otis, Earnest, and Kevin Walker; seven sisters: Virginia Stanley, Kathy Wilson, Alice Gibson, Dorothy Lee, Fannie “Delores” Bond, Gwen Broom and Carol Quick; six grandchildren: Michael, David, Raymond J., Teisha, Jasmine and Gabrielle King; and two great-grandchildren: Darius and Danica King.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church, 633 East Dale Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
